Bloodborne sells 1 million+ copies and Xbox boss congratulates

Hopefully, Sony will do the same for a port somewhen?

As you all may know, Bloodborne, the Playstation exclusive, was released last month on March 24th.

Since then, the iconic game by Japanese studio, FromSoftware, has managed to hit and surpass the 1 million sales mark.  It shouldn’t come as a surprise, seeing how it hit near-perfect scores across multiple media outlets, including 91% from GameRankings and 92/100 from Metacritic. This is a huge achievement considering that Bloodborne is a new title and is only available on one platform — PS4.

A statement from SCE Worldwide Studios president, Shuhei Yoshida:

“Bloodborne was a new challenge for us, and our goal was to create a title that took full advantage of the power of PS4,” Shuhei Yoshida said. “I am thrilled that so many users have been enjoying the extremely rich and detailed world, beautiful melancholic atmosphere, and palpable tension of Bloodborne.”

Xbox Boss Phil Spencer took to Twitter yesterday to congratulate the creators on their achievement, too.

It’s not the first time that this has happened, as on each console release, both companies congratulated each other on Twitter as well.

People who already own the game are waiting for a patch that reduces load times and fixes some performance issues. Patch 1.03 is expected by the end of April.
