The screenshot shows an underground dwarf fortress in a top-down view. The entire frame is covered by an extremely complex mining system, which consists of numerous rectangular corridors and rooms. At the bottom, two large rooms are shown with numerous different colored barrels and silver chests next to each other. Above them, a lounge with wooden tables and chairs can be seen. On the left, opposite, there is another room with stored chests. On the left half of the picture, most of the corridors are filled with turquoise paint, suggesting water penetration. On the right side of the picture, we look at a much denser and more connected complex of rooms, which also seem to be filled with water. In some places in the corridors, gold accumulations in the form of yellow balls can be glimpsed. As of today, the Steam Edition for the game is available, which brings graphical and gameplay improvements. A Dwarf Fortress guide provides a good introduction with valuable tips for a beginner.
