Are you ready for another submergence? Aye-aye, Captain! SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is releasing tomorrow and will take you on a new crazy adventure with your favorite sponge and starfish. This time there will be tears, too.
Bikini Bottom is in danger, and it’s once again up to you to stop the chaos that has broken loose and restore the “normal craziness” underwater. Developer Purple Lamp Studios and Publisher THQ Nordic have come up with a fresh new storyline.
Spongebob and Patrick receive a vial of mermaid tears from the fortune teller Cassandra, which can grant them any wish. The storm of eager wishes from the two breaks the structure of time and space. Magical portals open up everywhere, pulling many of SpongeBob’s friends into strange worlds. Oopsie. With the help of funny costumes, the two heroes must now venture into the wishing worlds and restore law and order to Bikini Bottom.
SpongeBob’s Cosmic Shake gameplay is a guarantee for great humor
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a 3D platformer with gameplay similar to its predecessor, Battle for Bikini Bottom. In this installment, you’ll also solve a number of puzzles in a total of seven different worlds and fight against a number of enemies and bosses. Throughout the process, you’ll have to slip into different crazy costumes again and again, of which you’ll also be able to unlock a significant amount. The developers have not yet revealed too much about the gameplay through video content, so there is still a lot to discover.

Tomorrow is already the day! SpongeBob’s Cosmic Shake will be released on 01/31/2023. You can already pre-order the title on Steam. The game will also be released for PS4/PS5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. So far, the game only offers a singleplayer mode. It remains to be seen whether multiplayer will be added later, as it was available in its predecessor. In any case, multiplayer would be great because the game is predestined for a two-player Co-op adventure with its “buddy story”.
