The second largest country on our planet is getting more details with this extensive free update for Flight Simulator from Microsoft. Thanks to smart scanning technology, you can now experience the cities, mountains, and coasts of the country even more realistically.
With World Update 10, the USA already got a complete makeover and shone in a new light. Before that, Malta and Italy were polished up with World Update 9. Now, Microsoft has tackled Canada, and the result is again very impressive. In addition to graphically redesigned cities and landmarks, new missions have also been added. You can download World Update 11 now automatically via the game.
Which new missions does the World Update 11 contain?
With the new update, you can now practice your landings in the challenges Calgary, Castlegar, and Barkerville or explore the nature of Newfoundland, Vancouver Island, and the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Or just relax and fly with a light airplane, like the Cessna, over Toronto, Vancouver, or Montreal. The game owes its highly accurate representations of the country to using satellite images, aerial photographs, and digital elevation models.
What else is there to discover?
The new free update lets you explore twelve Canadian cities that have been completely remeasured thanks to photogrammetry. You can now fly over Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, and Halifax and admire 87 places of interest like the Olympic Stadium in Quebec. Furthermore, five new airports have been added where you can depart and land.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is part of Xbox Game Pass but is also available for purchase on Microsoft Store and on Steam for £60/$60/€70. If you own the game already, make sure to get the update first before playing again. If you own an Xbox, don’t miss the Games with Gold for October 2022 too.
