After Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 Finally Comes Part 4

Bandai Namco serves us a real treat. But we want more... Moooooooore!

Bandai Namco has surprisingly unveiled a new title for the popular DMZ fighting game series, including a trailer. Sixteen years after the release of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, fans can finally look forward to installment number 4.

During the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour 2022/2023, the organizers officially announced that Bandai Namco is already working on a Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4. You can watch a brand-new trailer below:

What makes Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 so special?

The Dragon Ball Z Budokai series started on the PS2 before the Nintendo Wii existed. Over 50 games revolve around the Dragon Ball universe. However, with DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Bandai Namco produced an absolute top title that is still considered one of the most popular DMZ games and best fighting games.

In Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3, you don’t play in the side view as usual but have the camera behind your fighter. The new form of perspective was already seen in Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2, making the series a genuinely innovative fighting game that stood out at the time.

The controls are also relatively beginner-friendly, and each character has unique moves and combos. The almost limitless selection of characters is impressive, amounting to a full 98. Some of these are from Dragon Ball Classic, Z, and GT. This wealth of roles makes for extreme variety, not least in combat, and offers every fan the perfect opportunity to live out their Dragon Ball fantasies. But unfortunately, this title was only released for PS2, PSP, and Nintendo Wii.

What we already know about Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4

Even though announcing the fourth installment is a great delight for fans, the trailer doesn’t give much away. Thus, we don’t get any details regarding a release date nor on which platforms the game will be released. We only get an (admittedly incredibly epic) glimpse of Son Goku taking on the Super Saiyan Blue form. What remains are amazed fans, but they can be sure that Bandai Namco will surely release new information soon.
