10. Friday The 13th: The Game

Games like Friday The 13th: The Game contain a survival horror principle, which is extremely popular among fans: From a group of players, there is always one randomly chosen, which slips into the role of Jason Vorhees. The murderer has to find and kill the other players before the time runs out. But the victims are not powerless against him. They can also help themselves with tools such as a bear trap to gain time. However, the killer can teleport himself to other places on the map at any time, which provides an enormous thrill. The five playable maps are also based on the first five films.

9. Killing Floor 2

Assemble a squad of six friends, including you, and venture into post-apocalyptic realms with your team. The game is a true hell on earth. Load your weapons and get ready because you can expect increasingly strong waves of zombies, which in this game are called Zeds. The sequel takes place shortly after the events of the first installment. In addition to the classic Co-op mode, there is also the Survival VS mode as a PVP version. Here two teams with up to six players each compete. One team plays as Mercenaries, the other as the Zeds. In this mode, the Zeds also have special abilities that are not available in the normal mode.

The player stands in first-person perspective at the edge of a marketplace on a street. He holds a machine gun with a scope in his hands, which he points at a muscular monster with a wide-open mouth and a bald head. The creature holds a chainsaw in its right hand and is facing the player. It stands in front of the player and is shown in a long shot in the center of the frame. 8. GTFO

This horror shooter is suitable for all gamers who want to experience a real challenge together with friends. Take on the role of so-called Scavengers and investigate a certain area for data about a creature called The Warden. Of course, the game doesn’t make it easy for you, and you have to face hordes of bloodthirsty zombies in extreme darkness. A superlative thrill and an intense Co-op teamplay adventure await you and your squad.

7. Resident Evil 5

The franchise has long been known and loved for its pure singleplayer horror. The fifth installment caused mixed feelings because it brought Co-op gameplay into the series for the first time. For all Co-op horror fans, this is a real reason to rejoice, as the scary success can now be enjoyed with up to 4 players, making it one of the highly recommended scary games to play with friends. Take on the roles of Sheva or Chris and fight off tons of infected creatures embedded in a very exciting story. The game offers an online Co-op as well as a split-screen mode.

With Resident Evil 5 you have found one of the highly recommended co-op horror games. This screenshot shows a cinematic from the game. 6. Hunt: Showdown

In this multiplayer FPS spectacle, you can team up with your friends or go solo in Bounty Hunt mode to kill the four beasts: The Assassin, The Spider, The Scrapbeak, or The Butcher. But there are also rivals as real players in the game, which makes the show even more exciting. Besides the bounty hunting, the game also offers you a battle royale mode, in which you’ll have to try to find an energy source while you fight numerous enemies.

5. Dead By Daylight

It is one of the horror Co-op games where teamwork is more than required! In this title, you are either the hunted or the prey. Team up with up to three friends and turn on several generators on the map to escape through the exit. A race against time begins because one additional player is a bloodthirsty killer who wants to find and murder you. Watch out for Ghostface, Michael Myers, or Freddy Krueger.

4. Dead Island

In this game, a vacation oasis turns into a nightmarish place where you’ll have to fight and shoot your way through hordes of zombies. Dead Island from Techland offers a unique and exciting horror scenario. Surely one of the most beautiful scary games you can play with friends. In the face of numerous undead, you should definitely have a companion by your side. Up to three other players can join you and help you keep the annoying monsters away.

In horror co-op games like Dead Island, you experience the absolute nightmare even on dream beaches, as illustrated in this screenshot: On the right side of the image in the foreground, we see a playable female character in the daytime in a wide shot, just trying to push away a muscular zombie with short dark green pants and a bare torso, who is trying to bite the character. 3. Resident Evil Revelations 2

In this game, you can play with a friend both the story of Barry and Natalia and of Moira and Claire. Exciting riddles and intense boss fights await you. After the very extensive two-part campaign, you can also hunt numerous monsters in raid mode and level up various characters. Due to its scope, this installment is one of the most recommendable Co-op horror games and a real insider tip.

In Resident Evil: Revelations 2, one of the highly recommended co-op horror games, you fight again with different weapons against the undead, as shown in this screenshot: Barry, one of the playable characters, can be seen in half-profile in semi-total view in the bottom right of the image. He is wearing a red jacket equipped with numerous brown pockets and wears brown pants. His brown hair is combed back. He is aiming through a brown sniper rifle at the head of an approaching decomposed zombie, which can be seen in the foreground on the left. The character is in some sort of dark sewer. 2. Cry of Fear

This game is free-to-play and a total conversion of the engine and assets from the first Half-Life. Nevertheless, Team Psykskallar has created one of the best Co-op horror games with this title. Live through a never-ending nightmare as the young boy Simon in singleplayer, or play this horror scenario together with up to three friends as policemen in Co-op. It’s one of the best scary games to play with friends that won’t let you go anytime soon. Be prepared to keep many memories from it for quite a long time.

We see the protagonist Simon on this sceenshot, from Cry of Fear. He can be seen in the semi-close-up on the right side of the picture on a sidewalk. Only a few streetlights illuminate the scene, which otherwise looks quite dark. In the background, the street can be seen in the crop, which leads into the background to the right.
