Warzone 2 is ready to launch and will give us a whole new battle royale experience. The release date of the sequel is already mid-November.
Suddenly everybody played Call of Duty: Warzone. The battle royale shooter from Infinity Ward/Activision gained an incredible number of players in a very short time and is still a very popular title in its genre. Now we can look forward to the successor, which will differ significantly from the first installment.

Warzone 2 is going live today
As of November 14, the preload was already available for players. Now the time has finally come! Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is going to be playable as of today. Here is what you need to know to dive into the game.
Download sizes
In order to play the game, you will need to allocate a fair amount of disk space. The download sizes for the respective platforms are as follows:
- 115 GB on Xbox
- 115 GB on PlayStation
- 170 GB on PC
Players who have already installed Modern Warfare II have Warzone 2 mostly prepared and will only need a patch. A few additional GBs are necessary since the Season 1 update has to be downloaded.
Launch time
Warzone 2 launches today, November 16th, on all platforms and in every region at the identical time of 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 19:00 CET.

The release date of Warzone 2 is close
Already on September 15, the Call of Duty staff announced on their blog that the release date of Warzone 2 will be on November 16, 2022. With this news, the creators of the game have certainly surprised many fans who did not expect the sequel to be released before 2023.
Huge map “Al Mazrah” in Warzone 2
This time, you’ll be heading to the dusty West Asian coast, which is based on the storyline of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Here you’ll sky dive over “Al Mazrah”, the largest warzone map to date. The map has some exciting locations to offer, which have to be conquered. For example, you’ll fight battles in the modern capital Al Mazrah City in the north or the southern port. But don’t be blinded by the local beauty: Once again, it’s a matter of naked survival – preferably as a team!
What can we expect in Call of Duty: Warzone 2?
Warzone 2 will be different and offer a new battle royale gaming experience. Besides the new large map, there are also some changes in the gameplay, which are based on CoD: Modern Warfare 2. To give you a quick overview, we have listed the most important new features below:
- Al Mazrah is the largest warzone map so far
Bigger than Caldera and Verdansk. Jump down into the dusty landscape and discover the most intense places on the map. - Gulag 2.0
In the sequel, you fight in Gulag in 2 vs. 2 mode - Water as a core feature
Dive down and approach your enemies even through waterways - The new game mode “DMZ”
Spawn at a random location on the map and fight against NPCs and real players for loot and reputation - Items incompatibility
Unfortunately, you can’t bring your content and items from the predecessor to the new Call of Duty: Warzone 2
The new Warzone 2, like its predecessor, once again forms a unit with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and shares new content like Season Stories and weapons. As usual, you can level up the Battle Pass in both parts of the game, and playing Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is free.
