Ubisoft Fires up the Blaster With Star Wars Outlaws + Gameplay

Let's see how the "wanted meter" turns out and even more exciting is the question: what happens at the highest level?

The deal between Disney and EA is over; Ubisoft Massive is hard at work crafting a new extraordinary open-world experience called Star Wars Outlaws. Given the gameplay insights, the new title promises to become the most anticipated game within the beloved franchise. What makes the game such an immense buzz?

Finally, we see other developers dive into the vast Star Wars universe, and their efforts are starting to bear fruit. If you’re a fan of GTA’s freedom and possibilities and enjoy the Star Wars universe, you’ve just stumbled upon a true gem.

Star Wars Outlaws is the first open-world title in the franchise and offers an exciting action adventure in which you’ll take on the charming smuggler Kay Vess role.

The Star Wars Outlaw story takes you to the underground

The new installment occurs between “Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back” and “Episode 6: Return of the Jedi.” Despite the Rebel Alliance’s efforts, the Empire still maintains complete control over the galaxy, resulting in many criminal activities and underground syndicates.

As ambitious thief Kay Vess, you’ll strive through the underworld and try to get by as best you can. But you’re in a dilemma: you’ve become one of the most wanted criminals in the galaxy. In this third-person adventure, you fight for your survival but are not alone: on your dangerous journey, your cute companion, “Nix,” does not leave your side. Risky missions and dirty deals with criminal syndicates will become your daily business, but your ultimate goal is to pull off the greatest heist in history.

You could call the gameplay GTA in space

When Ubisoft Massive made their announcement about developing an open-world Star Wars game, they were dead serious. Star Wars Outlaws takes you on missions in diverse areas, where you can stealthily infiltrate or engage in action-packed blaster battles. Besides the missions, the game allows you to hop onto a speeder bike and race across planets whenever you want. So far, it looks like each planet has many cities waiting to be explored, and if you ever mess with the wrong party, get in your spaceship and fly to another planet.

But wait, there’s more! Star Wars Outlaws boasts an all-encompassing reputation and bounty system. This mechanic we know from Rockstar is intricately linked to your decisions during missions and actions in the open world. However, the exact mechanic’s implementation remains a mystery as yet.

Additionally, you’ll relish the unparalleled freedom to pilot your ship, engage in heart-pounding dogfights, and effortlessly navigate through a vast and enthralling planetary system. That sounds like a dream come true. But when will the time finally come?

When and on which platforms will Star Wars Outlaws be released?

The detailed gameplay preview from Ubisoft gives an excellent and quite polished impression so far. However, Ubisoft is still working intensively on Star Wars Outlaws. The game is slated to be a single-player adventure for the next-gen platforms PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a release date in 2024. We are keen to hear more details about it and will update you as soon as we know more.

Just in case you missed it…

An absolute Star Wars gem awaits us in 2024, and we can’t wait to see what other titles will see the light of day. However, Electronic Arts also did a great job releasing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

The galaxy just got you hooked? Then you can also look forward to the revolutionary Starfield, which will launch later this year. Also, you’ll be able to experience no less breathtaking interstellar flights through the galaxy in Star Citizen.
