FromSoftware is already working on the first big Elden Ring DLC but still keeps us mainly in the dark. A brief overview of plans and news about the new upcoming expansion.
Elden Ring is a natural diamond among open-world RPGs: With over 20 million copies sold, the game is a huge commercial success. So it’s just logical that the developers want to follow up on the triumph by pursuing Elden Ring DLC plans. Now there is already the first piece of information about it, which makes us happy, but also puzzled.
A picture and the unveiling of the title of the Elden Ring DLC
The developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco have revealed the title of the story sequel. The new big Elden Ring DLC is called Shadow of the Erdtree. Its announcement was made via the official Twitter channel.
Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together.
An upcoming expansion for #ELDENRING Shadow of the Erdtree, is currently in development.

We see an impressive artwork depicting a pale, white horseman figure in a bleak, ghostly, desolate landscape. Above it, we read the following sentence “Rise, Tarnished, and let us walk a new path together.” A sentence that puts us in a mood of excitement but also leaves us in the dark. We don’t get more about the DLC content, not to mention the release date. But at least we know that FromSoftware has big plans, and an Elden Ring DLC is being developed.
Console players can also rejoice because the Japanese developer studio has assured on its official website that Shadow of the Erdtree will be released for all available platforms like PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
