Remnant 2 Promises to Be the Dream of Every RPG Fan

If you're missing the shooting irons in Dark Souls, you should look closer at this remarkable upcoming title.

The hard-hitting survival shooter Remnant 2 will already celebrate its release this summer and surpass its predecessor, “From The Ashes,” in every way. Now the developers have introduced another archetype class in a new trailer video.

Lovingly dubbed “Dark Souls with guns” by the community, Remnant: From The Ashes has received very positive reviews on Steam. And the sequel is already on the way. The Remnant 2 release date is already this summer, according to Gearbox Publishing and Gunfire Games.

New Remnant 2 Handler Archetype unveiled

After the recent unveiling of the Gunslinger, a new trailer just joined the show, introducing the Handler as Archetype. He can give his faithful companion commands like attack or protect to eliminate enemies from a distance or support his teams. His unique attributes include bringing teammates back to life when they fall in battle. Check out the new reveal trailer below:

Souls-like gameplay par excellence

The game is set in a dark, terrifying world where you will face huge relentless bosses and hideous creatures in frenetic and methodical melee and ranged battles. The Souls-like metaphor works out in every case.

Indeed, you don’t have to face this scary journey alone. Grab up to two other friends and embark on the trigger-happy adventure as a threesome. Each run in Remnant 2 is unique due to the procedural generation of the dungeons and offers you a good portion of exiting areas, NPCs, bosses, and weapons.

The successor is supposed to feel much better than the original title regarding weapon handling and movement. Especially the melee fights are more convincing now. Enemies will try to make you bite the dust with even nastier methods.

In Remnant 2, you'll have to take on nasty enemies in close combat in dark places, as seen here. The gameplay shows no mercy.

Greatly improved archetype system in Remnant II

In Remnant 2, you will have much more flexibility in customizing and polishing your character’s abilities. While the archetypes in the predecessor only formed the starting point for different playstyles, in Remnant 2, they are now even more crucial.

In the sequel, the archetypes, such as Gunslinger and Handler, have two new notable features in addition to their individual equipment: Archetype Skills and Archetype Perks, which are unlocked throughout the game by experience and advancement.

This allows for fully custom progression in Remnant 2 and exciting character builds. You can find more information about the new skills and perks on the official website. Remnant II is scheduled for release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The following official gameplay trailer gives a comprehensive insight into the gameplay.

Did I hear Souls-Likes?

Nasty fights, ruthless enemies. Many first-class games have already hit the market based on the appealing game principle of Dark Souls. Prime examples are titles like Bloody Spell. And there is even more reason to rejoice: the creators of this popular genre are already hard at work on the new Elden Ring DLC.

This August, you’ll encounter another brutal title with Lies of P. In any case, our Souls Like Games ranking will give you a great overview of the current trends in the field.
