The realization of your own dream metropolis will soon take place on a much higher level. Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order have officially announced Cities: Skylines 2 and provided us with an impressive trailer.
Cities Skylines has already captivated many players with its high diversity and dynamics in building an economy embedded in modern graphics. The city builder was released in 2015 and expanded with numerous DLCs and packages, making the simulation an even deeper and better building experience. But it’s time for an upgrade.
Next-gen city building trailer sparks a massive wave of anticipation
Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive aim to deliver an even more epic building adventure in many ways with Cities Skylines 2. And when we look at the announcement trailer, this ambition is evident. At this point, it should be noted that the trailer was called “Announcement Trailer I”, which is why we can probably expect another video of this kind soon.
Cities Skylines 2 strives for more authenticity
The trailer offers us one thing above all: great cinema. We experience audiovisual fireworks and get a clear message. Cities Skylines II wants to be the “most realistic city builder – ever” and revolutionize the genre. However, the developers didn’t reveal much more as part of the announcement. A few pieces of information are inevitable, though.
In any case, the sequel will build on the success of the first installment but will significantly expand many mechanics. Not only will the economy of your metropolis and the individual households be simulated in detail, but also the traffic with buses, trains, cars, etc. In addition, a high degree of modding and customization should be possible for the game again. An area that particularly distinguished Cities: Skylines from other simulations.
Does Cities Skylines 2 have a fixed release date yet?
Cities: Skylines 2 will be released for the next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year. The developers haven’t revealed an exact release date, but we can expect more information soon. Maybe we’ll already get a glimpse of the gameplay of installment II. For PC, you can already wishlist the game via Steam.
