It’s been a year since the reveal trailer of the new Spider-Man 2 game for PS5. A recent leak regarding the release date is causing excitement for both fans and Sony.
It is officially confirmed that Spider-Man 2 will be released in the fourth quarter of 2023 for the next-gen console PlayStation 5. Now, all of a sudden, a more precise launch date leaked out to the public, with consequences.
Month for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launch revealed
Tony Todd doesn’t seem to pay much respect to the signed NDA. The Venom voice actor confirmed via Twitter that the new Spider-Man 2 game would be released in September for the PS5, along with a massive promotional campaign preceding the release date by a month.
Looks like September! Massive publicity coming in august. Commercials start dropping in august so I’m told. Hold on to your … and hold breath! Gonna be necessary – Tony Todd
Now it looks like the legal department has resolved the issue. After all, he cannot reveal marketing plans to the public. On Twitter, Tony Todd now reported back with a new post in which he wrote that he would give ‘no more hints’ and published a photo that shows his lips underwater.
No more hints about #Spiderman2 it was all a fever dream Blame it on jet lag who knows I might not even b #Venom pic.twitter.com/dKf1EsLFwQ

Spider-Man 2 – PS5 release date makes sense
Well, Tony Todd’s news wasn’t that sensational, though. In the end, the launch date of the predecessor Marvel’s Spider-Man was also in September and a complete success. So it’s nothing many have assumed already. However, developer Insomniac mentioned 2023 as the release window in the Spider-Man 2 Reveal Trailer. The game will eventually be available on Sony’s PlayStation Store for PS5. You can check out the Spider-Man 2 game trailer below.
The story will be darker in the new title
Bill Rosemann revealed in a podcast in This Week of Marvel, that the next installment will be much darker than its predecessors.
In Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker and Miles Morales must take on Venom. The implementation of this villain alone gives the game a distinctly darker look and feel. The Creative Vice President stated there would be many familiar characters and menaces you already know and love from previous titles.
Additional heroes are also wanted in other PS5 games
Apart from the Marvel universe, outstanding heroes are also needed to bring back law and order. For especially hot titles you can play with friends, check out the Best PS5 Co-op Games.
