Even in the best blockbuster movies, the hero’s journey rarely happens alone. Often, companions stand by their side to support them in their tasks. So we can gladly take an example from them. Grab your friend or partner, and find your next adventure in our ranking for the best Co-op games for PS5.

15. Warframe

In this sci-fi Co-op game from Digital Extremes, you can team up with three other friends and experience numerous thrilling cooperative missions. Warframe is a must-have for the PlayStation 5 because it is one of the first games on the console to feature DualSense. In this ninja-themed installment, you’ll be able to give your character an anime-like look and eliminate your many enemies with spectacular attacks. Go out with your friends and stop the expanding Grineer armies.

We are in a dark metallic battle arena. The player is shown in third-person in semi-total in the center of the image. He is wearing a grayish-black-orange battle suit and has some kind of harpoon on his back. With his right hand, he is about to strike out with a yellow sword, creating white beams in the lower right of the image. A white creature jumps at the player at the same moment on the left side.

You can play Warframe in online Co-op with up to three other players. It is available for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Get a copy for PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store.

14. Heavenly Bodies

This space game is one of the Co-op games for PS5, which is probably less about success and more about moments of laughter (or frustration). Its awkwardness is reminiscent of games like Human Fall Flat. Move around in two-player Co-op as cosmonauts of the 70s and pull, turn, and push your way through increasingly tricky stellar scenarios. The elimination of gravity may feel floatingly light, but it’s guaranteed not to make your life out there any easier – on the contrary!

In noisy graphic style we see two cosmonauts floating in space from the game Heavenly Bodies. The player on the left has a white suit and is shown in the bottom left corner of the screen in crop. He stretches out his left hand to reach the other player, who is shown upside down in the top right of the image in long shot. He is wearing a yellow suit. Both have a black helmet visor, which is highly reflective. The cosmonauts are illuminated by a bright light coming from the left side. Around them float various utensils, such as a crowbar on the left and a calculator on the right.

The title supports a split-screen mode for up to two players. You can get it for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, macOS, and PC. Grab it for PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store.

13. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

If you know and love the Borderlands series, you’ll surely find what you’re looking for when searching for good Co-op PS5 games with this fantasy spin-off. Once again, a spectacular and humorous cooperative adventure filled with loot awaits you with three other players, locally or online. As you are used to from Borderlands, flexible entry and exit is possible at any time during the game, which makes for an extremely comfortable and user-friendly playing experience. Level up your weapons and characters and discover the numerous quests and sidequests while you fight with your friends over the hottest loot.

In one of the best PS5 co-op games in 2022 you can expect a lot of attractive loot but also powerful enemies, as seen on this sceenshot. A diabolical knight-like creature with outstretched wings on its back is shown in the wide shot in the center of the image. We look at the monster from the bottom view, which makes it appear even more powerful. In its right hand, the creature holds a flaming sword and in its left a blade that glows blue. The monster is in a dark ancient room with many pedestals, shrouded in purple fog, with daylight shining through a window in the background.

12. Outriders

If you’re looking for the best PS5 Co-op games, don’t miss this title. Also very much reminiscent of Borderlands, this loot shooter puts you and up to two other teammates into a post-apocalyptic world in a place called Enoch, where you awaken. Become more powerful as an Outrider throughout the game and stop those people who are about to destroy the planet on which you are with your friends.

Co-op PS5 games like Outriders are very reminiscent of Borderlands, as this screenshot illustrates. On the left side of the screen, a character is shown in half-total, looking at us. He is wearing a shimmering blue metallic futuristic armor with a large red hood pulled over his head. His face is covered by an equally futuristic and blue reflecting metal mask and we only see two blue shimmering eyes. Also reflecting blue are the two heavily decorated metal pistols he holds in his hands. We are in a post-apocalyptic environment. Around the player we see wooden boards and scrap metal lying around. The sky is illuminated in red and directly behind the player there is a glistening bright light, which illuminates the environment and the character from behind.

You can play Outriders in online Co-op with up to two other players. It is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Get a copy for PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store.

11. Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood can be called an unofficial Left 4 Dead because, with this title, the guys from Turtle Rock Studios deliver a nostalgic homage to Valve’s popular zombie series with an updated look & feel. Throw yourself and three other friends into the zombie-infested forests, swamps, and cities as so-called “Cleaners” and fight your way from safe zone to safe zone. You can choose from a total of 8 unique characters with unique abilities. An innovation of the title is the so-called “Deck Manager”, which grants you special ability combinations. Definitely, one of the best PS5 Co-op games you can find right now.

Back 4 Blood is one of the most action-packed zombie shooters and best PS5 co-op games in 2022. In this screenshot, we see four playable characters from behind in the semi-close-up. They are standing in a safe zone in front of a locked orange steel door with an exit sign mounted on it as well as a danger sign that reads "Danger, Ridden" in capital letters and red paint. Through the barred window, we can see a stairwell in the background with a white zombie standing in it. The players have different clothes and have backpacks on their backs. One female player on the left is armed with a baseball bat. The room is slightly lit by two sconces.

10. Human: Fall Flat

Experience a jump-and-run platformer of a particularly funny and clumsy kind with Human: Fall Flat. Here you’ll have to master numerous dream world courses, alone or preferably together with friends (which is much more amusing and fun). But to get to the destination, you’ll have to correctly use the objects and structures that are ready around you, as well as the physical forces and your body. It’s an undertaking that tends to go wrong but also offers a lot of room for laughs.

We are looking at a very colorful and bright game character from Human: Fall Flat. From a bird's eye view, we look down on a white kneaded game character with a baseball cap. He is shown in the center of the top half of the image in long shot, holding onto a brown lantern with her right hand. With her other hand, she holds on to another character who has orange hair, wears purple pants and a red jacket, and has a colorful hiking backpack on her back. Below them are several stone islands of varying distances with green surfaces floating in the air. The islands feature other players in different funny outfits, such as a pinkguin costume, and we see other level content, such as a catapult in the upper left corner or a house and mill with trees behind it in the upper right.

You can play the game in online Co-op with up to three other players. It is available for Android, iOS, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Linux, macOS, and PC and can be purchased for PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store.

9. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

The famous saying from Star Wars “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….” has once again found its way into the Lego universe. The building block franchise has already released many successful movie adaptations with games like Lego Harry Potter. This third-person action-adventure again has the typical Lego humor with funny slapstick interludes, but now embedded in the popular Star Wars universe. Its simple controls make it a game for young and old, and of course, for all Star Wars and Lego fans.

In this screenshot we are playing Princess Leia Organa in third person, who can be seen from behind in the close-up at the bottom left. We are currently on an enemy battleship in a hallway with a gray, highly reflective floor and very futuristic-looking white walls that have numerous rectangular gray buttons. In the hallway and in the center of the image are two enemy imperialist units in typical white uniforms and white gas mask helmets. They are facing us and aiming their black laser guns at us. The corridor leads to the left into the background to a large destroyed door with black smoke coming through its opening. Above the door, two parallel red alarms are shown.

The game supports a two-player split-screen mode. You can get it for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It can be purchased for PlayStation 5 via the PlayStation Store.

8. Deep Rock Galactic

Join a group of armed dwarves in procedurally generated cave systems, explore the numerous dungeons and mine valuable resources. Complete many different missions and fight various nasty creatures inside the cave. Due to the procedural random generation, no two caves are alike, and it requires some strategic planning as a team to return to the escape pod safely and successfully. If you want some support in learning how to master the game, feel free to check our Guide with Deep Rock Galactic Tips.

In Deep Rock Galactic you search for valuable resources in procedurally generated cave systems in one of the best PS5 co-op games, as seen here in this screenshot: As a player in the role of a dwarf, we are looking in first-person perspective at a mineral field consisting of numerous golden sparkling polygons, which we can see a bit further in the background of the image in the upper left corner. We are holding a minigun in our hands, which has a digital ammunition and temperature gauge attached to it, which is shown in the lower right of the image. The game basically looks very polygon-like graphically. To the right of the field in the background are another red player and a blue player dwarfs. Both are shining their flashlights on the mineral field, since the cave is otherwise very dark and consists of many dark green stones.

7. Resident Evil 6

Even though the sixth installment was heavily criticized at the beginning for being too action-heavy, it since still has become a pretty popular third-person zombie shooter. In contrast to its predecessors, it is much faster, but that also has its appeal. Nonetheless, it has the appropriate elements of horror and the intended thrill. Make the creepy adventure a shared experience and play the main campaign of RE6 with friends in Co-op mode. Especially on the PlayStation 5, the graphical performance is very impressive.

Two main characters from Resident Evil 6 are shown in this screenshot on the right, parallel in half-profile in the semi-close-up. They both have black hair and are wearing a gray body armor and dark gray combat gloves. Their gazes go out of the picture on the right and they both hold Assault Rifles in their hands, which are partially cropped from the picture. In the background of the image on the upper half on the left side, another soldier with similar combat gear can be seen in the crop. The soldiers have taken up position in the middle of an asphalt road at night. Take on the role of one of the main characters and fight side by side with your friends in one of the best PS5 co-op games.

Play it together with your friends or compete in an online battle against other players worldwide. However, the zombie mode is especially fun, where you’ll have to stand up to increasingly strong waves of zombies and coordinate well with your partner in split-screen mode.

In this screenshot, we look over the protagonist's right shoulder at a soldier with war paint on his face, who is in focus on the right side in the image's middle ground. He is wearing blue jeans and a leather jacket that reflects numerous flames, which can be seen and in focus in the background of the image, taking up the entire frame in the back. The soldier holds a pistol with both hands, which he points to the ground. His gaze is also directed thoughtfully toward the ground, while his mouth is open. Apparently, the two soldiers are in the middle of a dialogue. We are in a house destroyed by fire in the evening. At the top of the image, a huge hole can be seen in the roof and we can see sparks of fire on the right side of the image. A gripping action spectacle and one of the best PS5 co-op games in 2022.

The fight takes place at the top left end of the bridge, where a beast is about to be cast with a red spell, killing it. To the left and right of the bridge is a deep stone abyss.
