This year is blessed. Because we, as PC gamers, are literally spoiled with first-class releases. From open-world to RPG and strategy games, they have it all. Are you looking for your next adventure? Have fun with our ranking of the best PC games in 2023.
Â
The PC is the undisputed winner as a gaming platform for big releases. And this year will be particularly exciting. The many great titles clearly show that the gaming industry continues to accelerate. Games are becoming more realistic and offer even more depth, so you can fully immerse yourself in them. Our list of top picks will help you find your next favorite game.
Â
7. Forza Motorsport
Forza Motorsport returns with a brand new title. This time without a number. But that shouldn’t bother you because the racing game offers even more realism. The developers particularly emphasize new tire management, optimized tire collision models, and even more immersive weather, track, and environmental effects. More than 500 licensed cars will burst with details and offer individually created damage models. And you can get into the cockpit before the end of the year.
Â
6. Path of Exile 2
If you don’t know this great RPG yet, it’s about time. Because Path of Exile 2 is supposed to be released this year. We will probably find out when precisely at ExileCon in July. The second installment is an extensive expansion of the predecessor and offers a general overhaul of many core features and a new campaign. PoE 2 is considered a Diablo-like; only the item and skill systems go in a different direction. But the best part is that you can play and discover the many classes and dungeons for free. We are definitely looking forward to this giant DLC.

You can already play Path of Exile for free. Grab a copy for PC via Steam.

5. Resident Evil 4 Remake
Capcom’s excellent horror franchise already made a big comeback this year with Resident Evil 4 Remake. It is also the most successful of the series, so it claimed a spot on our ranking of the best PC games in 2023. Suddenly there was a Resident Evil with open locations, an entirely new perspective view, and quick-time events. The single-player horror title felt perfect. The remake continues this success and serves even more horror and immersion thanks to breathtaking high-end graphics and crisp sound design. There are also new enemies and a new hardcore ‘Chainsaw Mode’ (if you dare to go for it).

4. Manor Lords
Every city builder’s dream will come true this year with Manor Lords. If the streets in Anno are too rectangular for you, or you want even more realism when building your settlements, this title is guaranteed to comfort you. Here you’ll even be able to watch your citizens create structures step by step in great detail. However, the game will offer you a natural-looking building system that is highly organic and free. Manor Lords will also include a complex military and diplomacy simulation, with which you can send massive battalions into war as the commander. The historically accurate building sim is planned for 2023.
Â
You can already set Manor Lords on your wishlist on Steam.
Â
3. Sons of the Forest
You don’t need to look any further if you’re still looking for a multiplayer open-world highlight. Released in February, the title is the follow-up to ‘The Forest’ and will blow you away with its incredibly realistic graphics. Not only has the environment become even more grandiose, but the AI has also undergone an enormous intelligence update. You’ll benefit enormously from the new companions during construction and combat. But also, your enemies, the cannibals, are even more diverse and nastier. They behave differently depending on the situation and challenge you even more. Not so easy to feel safe in this title. If you haven’t yet, check our Sons of the Forest Review.

2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
In the meantime, we no longer doubt that Stalker 2 will be a huge success and will be able to build on the groundbreaking success of the first part. Look at the latest trailer, and you’ll understand what we are talking about. The game throws you into a post-apocalyptic, irradiated, bleak environment, which is supposed to offer one of the largest open worlds ever. There you will encounter all sorts of creepy mutants and anomalies. The realistic graphics are as overwhelming as they are sensational. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl clearly belongs in our ranking of the best games for PC and is scheduled for release in December 2023.

1. Diablo IV
All hell will break loose this summer because Blizzard’s famous hack’n’slash series is finally continuing! The developers have taken their time with Diablo VI and gone through several open beta phases to bring the game to greatness. And we can see and feel it! The RPG offers character customization depth previously unavailable in a Diablo. Create your very own Barbarian or Necromancer, from eye color to physique, down to the smallest detail. And the Endgame will also keep you on your toes with brand-new Helltide events, the in-depth Paragon Board, and Capstone Dungeons. Safe the date, Diablo 4 will already launch on June 6! Lilith, we’re coming for you!
